What items do we accept for pickup?

The simple answer is just about any household item that will fit in up to 4 madR bags that you want to try to recycle or send for reuse!

For each pickup, we will accept approximately 1 short truck bed contents.

Here are some examples of what fits:

  • 3-4 large trash bags, OR

  • 1 couch, OR

  • 10-15 paint cans, OR

  • 2-3 large appliances

Recyclable items

We accept any items that you can typically dispose of at a recycling transfer station AND additional items. If you want to try to recycle it, we’ll take it!

This includes:

  • Plastics (e.g., soda bottles, shampoo bottles, yogurt containers, makeup containers, etc.)

  • Metal (e.g., aluminum foil, soda cans, food cans, random excess metal, hangers etc.)

  • Glass (e.g., bottles, vases, cups, picture frames glass, etc.)

  • Paper (e.g., printed paper, newspaper, cardboard, the rolls that hold your toilet paper, etc.)

  • Textiles (e.g., clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, etc.)

  • Electronics (e.g., laptops, phones, cords, chargers, etc.)

  • Batteries

  • Toys

  • Appliances

  • Coffee pods

  • Light bulbs

  • Paint cans

  • Decorations

  • Anything else you think has a chance to be recycled!

Reusable items

We accept any items that you can typically donate to stores, such as Goodwill and Salvation Army. If you want to try to sent it for reuse, we’ll take it!

Please note, these items should still have some life in them and there is some overlap with the recycling list, as this depends on the usability of each item.

This includes :

  • Textiles (e.g., clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, etc.)

  • Electronics (e.g., laptops, phones, cords, chargers, etc.)

  • Batteries

  • Toys

  • Appliances

  • Coffee pods

  • Light bulbs

  • Paint cans

  • Decorations

  • Books

  • Anything else you think still has life for someone else to treasure for a bit!

Ultimately, if you’re not sure about an item, you can email us at team@madrworld.com. We will let you know.

As a general rule of thumb, we will accept any item that comes from your household that will fit in your madR bag (you receive this with your first pickup).

If you have an irregular item that might be a bit larger (e.g., mattress, furniture, flat screen TV, etc.), then let us know in advance so we can arrive prepared to transport this!

We will do our best to accept as much as possible. However, there might be items we will not be able to take at this time.
